UTC veterans may recall that prior to the pandemic we used a method for attendance that relied on scanning a QR code before attending each session. Our participants found this to be quick, effective, and user-friendly. We are excited to return to that system now that we are back in person. For more information, watch this tutorial. This method will only be used by Greenville County Schools employees, however. All non-GCS employees will receive a certificate by email after the conference.
UTC will return to using the attendance method used prior to the pandemic. Details will be provided at the event, but in summary, participants will follow these steps prior to each session:
The attendance system, described above, is only for employees of Greenville County Schools. All non-GCS attendees will be emailed a certificate of attendance after the conference. Participants will be responsible to list the specific sessions attended as required by his or her school district or organization.
Your session attendance record will be automatically loaded to the GCS professional development system on the portal. All credit is awarded as renewal points by default.
It is important for Greenville County Schools employees to check their attendance records following UTC. GCS employees will have 5 days to change their attendance credit between points and exchange day.
As described above, you will be receiving a certificate by email, so you will not be able to check for names of sessions using the method above. It may be helpful to familiarize yourself with the Sched app and even save the names of sessions attended.
Please review the information below regarding your attendance and registration. Failure to follow these guidelines could result in not receiving attendance credit.
Session Credit: Each session will be one hour in length and will count for 1 hour of professional development credit. Participants must attend the entire session in order to receive credit. We cannot give credit for participants who arrive late or leave early.
Your session attendance record will be automatically loaded to the GCS professional development system on the portal. All credit is automatically awarded as renewal points by default.
To change from renewal points to exchange day credit:
Your session attendance record will be entered into the GCS professional development tool on the Portal within 72 hours of the session. All credit will be awarded as renewal points by default.
We often have participants who wait until the first exchange day of the school year to realize they did not request exchange day credit, at which point the change can not be made. Participants will have 5 days from the day of the session to adjust their attendance records or request changes. After five days, records will be inaccessible and no further changes can be made to your attendance log. Please note this is a change from the previous years when additional time was allotted.
All Greenville County employees will be able to access their Zoom accounts using their GCS credentials and should NOT create an additional Zoom account. Therefore, all GCS employees should register in Eventbrite using their greenville.k12.sc.us email address or their greenvilleschools.us account. If you find that you did not register in Eventbrite with the correct email address, please email techconf@greenville.k12.sc.us as soon as possible so this change can be made.
NOTE: It is extremely important to check your attendance records following UTC Virtual.
Non-GCS employees with Zoom accounts will need to register on Eventbrite with the same email address used to log in to Zoom.
Non-GCS employees who do not have Zoom accounts should:
Step 1: Click here and follow the steps to create a Zoom account
Step 2: Use the same email address used in Step 1 to also register for UTC Virtual in Eventbrite.
All non-GCS attendees will be emailed a certificate of attendance after the conference. Participants will be responsible to list the specific sessions attended as required by his or her school district or organization.
